Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 8, 2026 · Last updated: July 8, 2026
Before you publish: confirm BidBuddy AI's exact registered legal form (e.g. LLC) and fill in the mailing address below, and have this reviewed by a lawyer before public launch. It is written to match Screenr's actual data practices, but it is a starting point, not legal advice.

This Privacy Policy explains how BidBuddy AI ("Screenr", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Screenr mobile application and related services (the "Service"). Screenr is an AI-powered call-screening app: when an unknown number calls you, Screenr can route that call to an automated AI receptionist that answers on your behalf.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account and setup details — such as your email address (if you create an account), your mobile phone number, and the screening number used to route your calls.
  • Settings — your preferences, including your chosen AI voice and model, screening mode, and block/allow lists.

Information created when the Service screens a call

  • Caller phone numbers and basic call metadata (time, duration, direction, and whether the call was screened, blocked, or forwarded).
  • Call audio of screened calls, which is streamed in real time to an AI provider so the assistant can understand and respond to the caller.
  • Recordings and transcripts of screened calls and the voicemails they produce.
  • Caller-identity and spam signals we look up for an incoming number (for example, a business caller-ID name, or whether a number appears on public robocall/spam lists).

Permissions Screenr requests on your device

  • Phone / Call Log / Phone State — required for Screenr to act as your phone/dialer app, detect incoming calls, and show your recent calls.
  • Contacts — used on your device to show the real name of a caller who is in your contacts. Your contact list is not uploaded to our servers (see Section 5).
  • Notifications — to alert you when the AI is screening a call so you can watch or step in.

Automatically collected

  • Basic device and diagnostic data — such as app version, device model, crash logs, and error events, to keep the Service working.

2. Calls, recordings & transcripts (please read)

When Screenr screens a call, the assistant identifies itself as an automated assistant at the start of the conversation, and the call is recorded so we can generate the transcript and voicemail you see in the app.

Call-recording and two-party-consent laws vary by state and country. In some places, all parties must be notified that a call is being recorded. You are responsible for ensuring your use of Screenr complies with the laws that apply to you and to the people who call you. Screenr's automated announcement is provided to help, but it does not guarantee compliance in every jurisdiction. If you are unsure, consult a lawyer.

3. How we use information

  • To operate the core Service — answer, screen, transcribe, and record your unknown calls, and let you watch, steer, or take over a live call.
  • To identify callers and detect spam/robocalls.
  • To provide your voicemail inbox, recents, and settings across the app.
  • To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
  • To process subscriptions and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To communicate with you about the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your calls or contacts to serve advertising.

4. Who we share it with (service providers)

We share only what is needed for the Service to function, with providers acting on our behalf:

  • AI providers — Google (Gemini API) and/or OpenAI (Realtime API) process call audio in real time to power the assistant, and receive the text of what you type for the assistant to say. Their handling of that data is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Telephony provider — Telnyx routes calls, streams call audio, performs recordings, and provides caller-ID lookups.
  • Caller-ID & spam data sources — public and third-party sources used to name callers and flag spam numbers.
  • Cloud hosting — servers that run the Service and store your recordings, transcripts, and settings.
  • Payment & app-store processors — for example Google Play Billing and our subscription platform, to handle purchases. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Your contacts & call log

Screenr reads your device contacts to display a caller's name when they are already saved in your phone. This lookup happens on your device. We do not upload, copy, or store your contact list on our servers. Your call log is read to show you your recent calls within the app.

6. Retention

We keep call recordings, transcripts, and voicemails so you can access them in the app. You can delete voicemails and recordings from within the app. When you delete an item, or close your account, we delete or de-identify the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Diagnostic and billing records may be retained longer as required.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

To exercise any right, contact us at the address in Section 11. You can also delete most of your data directly in the app.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures such as encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Screenr is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
